Merry Christmas

« Sing, Sing, Sing ».

How to react in times of Crisis? - Part II

To tell more about the short movie's production, I had the idea of it last year, wanting to do a film inspired by 50's and 60's cartoon designs, but all in 3D. A sort of tribute to this creative era.

At the beginning the project was more simple, quite abstract, heavily based on forms and colors without any proper rig (I'm not particularly fond of setup and rigging...). At that time, I had the 1957 short "Flebus" on my mind and already found a solution to make it look like 50's 2D designs.
Then two friends of mine, Amandine Durand and Brice Jolbit joined its production and the project visually gained in complexity.

After last year's summer break and two months working on it, Brice Jolbit and I decided to continue its production throughout our senior year at school. It took more time than we thought to complete it and polish it a bit, but we eventually managed to do it.
The whole movie is made in CG (created with Maya), only few details (some transparent items, all the characters except the main one) are done in 2D.

As regards my work on it, I was a kind of creative director, working on a great part of the writing, designs, modeling.
Specifically, I did all the interiors (except the bedroom), partially worked on the exteriors, on the main character and on the other ones. I'm responsible for the colors, the rendering and the final look of the film. I also did half of the animations. It was time consuming but I hope you enjoy it!

We Want

I had once again the great opportunity to team up with Khurt recently. Here is the cover art I did for his new song We Want. Don't hesitate in supporting him through iTunes or here (available worldwide)!
